The per-panel figure is the brand's mid-point Rs/W times the wattage, and the "checked" link is the price list the range came from. Mid-points the calculator uses: Tier-1 N-type TOPCon PKR 42/W, bifacial 42/W, Mono PERC 33/W; other brands 39, 40and 30/W.

What moves panel prices

From panel price to a full system

Panels are roughly a third to two-fifths of an installed system. Installers'October 2026 quotes for a complete residential system without a battery ran from about PKR 120,000 to PKR 160,000 per kW; the calculator uses PKR 140,000 per kW, so a 10 kW system is about PKR 1,400,000. Add a battery from thebattery backup calculator if you want to ride through load-shedding, and check the inverter with theinverter size calculator.

Common questions

What is the price of a 585 W solar panel in Pakistan right now?

In the first week of October 2026 Tier-1 N-type panels of 580-590 W (LONGi Hi-MO X7, Jinko Tiger Neo, JA DeepBlue 4.0, Canadian TOPHiKu6, Trina Vertex N) were listed at about PKR 42 per watt, or roughly PKR 24,424 a panel, with the cheapest listings a couple of rupees per watt below and the dearest a couple above. Lesser-known brands at the same wattage were around PKR 39 per watt, or PKR 22,961.

How much do the panels for a 5 kW system cost?

At PKR 42 per watt, 5 kW of Tier-1 N-type TOPCon panels is about PKR 208,750, which is 9 panels of 585 W. Non-Tier-1 panels bring it to about PKR 196,250. Panels are usually a third to two-fifths of a full installed system; with the inverter, structure, wiring and labour a 5 kW system came to roughly PKR 700,000 in October 2026 quotes, without a battery.

Is there tax on solar panels in the 2026-27 budget?

Yes, and it did not change. Budget 2025-26 proposed 18% sales tax on imported panels and settled on 10% from 1 July 2025. Ahead of the 2026-27 budget there were reports it would rise to 18%; the budget presented in June 2026 left it at 10%, and the Finance Act 2026 contains no solar measure. Inverters carry the standard 18%. There is no customs duty on panels. Sources are listed below; we could not obtain the Finance Act text itself.

What is the difference between N-type TOPCon, bifacial and Mono PERC?

Mono PERC is the older P-type cell; most 540-555 W panels in the market are PERC and are now clearance stock. N-type TOPCon is the current generation at 580 W and up, with better efficiency and less loss in heat. Bifacial means the panel has glass on both faces and picks up light reflected onto the back, which helps on a raised rooftop structure; almost all N-type panels sold here are bifacial, and the monofacial version of the same panel is typically PKR 0.25-0.50 per watt cheaper.

Does Tier-1 mean better quality?

Not directly. Bloomberg NEF's Tier-1 list is a bankability ranking: makers whose panels have been used in large, non-recourse financed projects. It says the company is big and its panels have been accepted by lenders, which correlates with quality and with the warranty being honoured, but it is not a performance test. The brands on it (LONGi, Jinko, JA, Trina, Canadian, Astronergy, Risen, Tongwei, Aiko and others) cost a few rupees per watt more than those off it.
