The jumps between rows are the slab cliffs: the band you finish in sets the rate for every unit, so 301 units (PKR 14,580) costs PKR 1,313 more than 300 (PKR 13,267). A protected home that uses 201 units is billed as unprotected for that month and the six after it, taking a 200-unit bill from PKR 3,827 to around PKR 9,037. The hub page walks through the slabs, the adjustments and the taxes in full.
What is on a GEPCO bill
Energy charge: units times the band rate.
Fixed charge: per kilowatt of sanctioned load, every month, usage or not. None for lifeline.
Fuel charges adjustment: Rs 2.0581 a unit for July 2026 on September 2026 bills (June 2026's was Rs 0.7503). Rs 1.7267 for August 2026 has been requested for October 2026 and is not yet decided.
Quarterly adjustment: Rs 0.5194 a unit, September to November 2026.
Electricity duty: 1.5% of the variable charge, a provincial tax.
GST: 18% on the charges and the duty.
PTV fee: Rs 35.
Income tax: 7.5% for non-filers once the bill reaches Rs 25,000; nothing for filers.
NEPRA's schedule has no GEPCO-specific residential levy, so none is modelled here. Anything else on your bill is account history, not tariff.
About PKR 13,267 for an unprotected home with a 1 kW sanctioned load, if you are a tax filer: 300 units at Rs 33.1 is PKR 9,930, plus a PKR 350 fixed charge, PKR 617 fuel adjustment for July 2026, PKR 156 quarterly adjustment, PKR 161 electricity duty, PKR 2,018 GST and Rs 35 PTV fee. Go one unit over, to 301, and the bill is about PKR 14,580.
What does GEPCO charge per unit in 2026?
The same as every company in Pakistan, because the residential tariff is set nationally by S.R.O. 279(I)/2026: Rs 22.44 up to 100 units, Rs 28.91 to 200, Rs 33.1 to 300, Rs 36.46 to 400, Rs 38.95 to 500, Rs 40.22 to 600, Rs 41.85 to 700 and Rs 47.2 above that, with the band's rate applying to every unit. Protected consumers pay Rs 10.54 and Rs 13.01. On top come the fuel adjustment (Rs 2.0581 this month), the quarterly adjustment (Rs 0.5194) and taxes, so the all-in cost of a unit at 300 units is about Rs 44.22.
How much is a 100-unit GEPCO bill, and a 200-unit one?
Unprotected, 1 kW, filer: about PKR 3,356 for 100 units and PKR 7,932 for 200. A protected consumer, meaning 200 units or less in each of the last six months, pays about PKR 1,842 and PKR 3,827 for the same usage.
Why is my GEPCO bill higher than this calculator?
The usual reasons, in order: you are a non-filer and the bill crossed Rs 25,000 (a 500-unit bill is PKR 27,406 instead of PKR 25,494); your sanctioned load is more than 1 kW, which multiplies the fixed charge; you lost protected status by crossing 200 units in one of the last six months; or the bill carries arrears, a late-payment surcharge or an instalment of an earlier bill, none of which are part of the tariff.
Is the GEPCO tariff different from K-Electric or LESCO?
No. The federal government notifies one uniform residential tariff for all ten ex-WAPDA companies and K-Electric, and NEPRA applies the same monthly fuel and quarterly adjustments to all of them. GEPCO serves Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Hafizabad, Narowal and Mandi Bahauddin; a home in Karachi or Lahore using the same units gets the same bill, apart from provincial electricity duty and anything specific to the account.
