What actually exists today
Three kinds of number are circulating, and they are not the same thing. The importer pre-order is a real price you can pay today for a non-PTA unit delivered in one to two weeks after launch. The "expected" prices in Daily Pakistan and WhatMobile are projections of what official stock will cost, ranging from PKR 744,999 to PKR 787,100 for 256GB. And the official distributors, Mercantile and GNext, have announced nothing: their pages say coming soon.
For comparison, the 18 Pro Max, which did get an official launch here, sells for PKR 603,999 PTA-approved against a US price of US$1,299. Apply the same ratio to the Duo's US$1,999 and an official price near PKR 929,000 is plausible, which is where the press estimates sit.
The PTA tax on a foldable
FBR values phones per model in a valuation ruling and has none for the Duo. Our calculator projects a customs value from the US launch price at the share FBR used for the iPhone 16 family and applies the published duty, 25% sales tax, levy and, on a CNIC, income tax and the 10% fine: about PKR 155,376 on a passport and PKR 183,564 on a CNIC for 256GB, up to PKR 263,980 for 2TB. The Duo tax page shows every line.
So the importer's PKR 730,000 non-PTA unit becomes about PKR 913,564 once registered on a CNIC, which is already above the expected official price. Unless you are registering on a passport within 60 days of arriving, waiting for official stock is the cheaper route.
Duo or 18 Pro Max
The Duo costs US$700 more than the 18 Pro Max and gives up the telephoto camera, Face ID and the physical SIM for the folding 7.6-inch display. Battery life on the inner display is rated at 31 hours of video against the Pro Max's 45. If the fold is the point, nothing else is comparable; if it is not, the 18 Pro Max is the better phone for PKR 183,101 less.

The one figure circulating on social media, Rs 271,831 and 299,014, has no stated basis.

Apple's first folding iPhone: a 7.6-inch inner display that folds to a 5.4-inch outer one, 5.2 mm thin open, 254 g, with the A20 Pro chip, two 48MP rear cameras (no telephoto), Touch ID in the side button instead of Face ID, and eSIM only. Can I get the iPhone Duo on instalments?
Once a PTA-approved unit is listed, yes. At the expected PKR 787,100, Oraan's 10-month plan would be about PKR 95,239 a month. No bank has advertised a Duo plan yet; the 18 Pro plans from Bank Alfalah, Jazz and Faysal will most likely be extended to it.
