The passport route applies when you register within 60 days of arriving in Pakistan. After that, or for a phone bought locally, the CNIC figure applies. Open the iPhone 14 Plus in the calculator to switch between them.
The tax is charged on a customs value that FBR fixes for each model in a valuation ruling, not on the price you paid. The iPhone 14 Plus is in that ruling, so the value used here is FBR's own, converted to rupees at today's exchange rate.
The rates are the ones in force since 1 July 2026: regulatory duty by value band, sales tax of 18% up to a value of US$500 and 25% above it, the handset levy and, on a CNIC, advance income tax and a 10% fine. Our guide to what PTA tax is made of sets out each one with its source.
Common questions
How much is the PTA tax on the iPhone 14 Plus?
About PKR 68,473 on a passport and PKR 87,970 on a CNIC for the iPhone 14 Plus 128GB, at the rates in force since 1 July 2026. It is worked out on the customs value FBR has published for the iPhone 14 Plus, which is what the tax is charged on, not on what you paid. The exact amount is the one PTA's DIRBS system issues for your IMEI.
Is the iPhone 14 Plus PTA tax lower on a passport?
Yes. On a passport, registered within 60 days of arriving in Pakistan, the estimate is PKR 68,473 for the iPhone 14 Plus 128GB. On a CNIC it is PKR 87,970, because advance income tax of PKR 11,500 is added and then a fine of 10% of the duty and taxes. A non-filer pays double the income tax, which takes it to PKR 100,620.
Where does the iPhone 14 Plus figure come from?
From FBR's own documents. The customs value is the one FBR published for this model in its valuation ruling, converted at today's exchange rate. The duty, sales tax, levy and income tax rates are the ones in force since 1 July 2026. FBR publishes no combined total, so the result is an estimate built from those parts.
How do I find the exact PTA tax on my iPhone 14 Plus?
Register it through PTA's DIRBS portal, or dial *8484# from a local SIM. You give your CNIC or passport number and the phone's IMEI, and the system issues a Payment Slip ID with the exact amount, which you pay at a bank. Reach DIRBS through pta.gov.pk rather than a search result, because imitation sites exist.
